Table Mountain is a tourist playground par excellence and staged the Cape Epic prologue many times over. A combination of gravel road and jeep track network traverse the steep slopes of Table Mountain with some fun sections of smooth flowing single track. Our MTB Table Mountain loop tour ride start from the iconic slopes of the Mountain lower cable car station and goes all around Table Mountain starting from the east side of the Mountain. As Tafelberg Road becomes dirt, the route descends towards the University of Cape Town becoming a little more steep and loose under the wheels with the first technical section of the day on the Plum Pudding Single track which tests bravery and skill in equal measures. Being a mountain biker will most definitely help you relax and enjoy the ride. As one goes in the forest the surface changes from hard compacted clay to loose and wood chips, be prepared for riding on slippery surface especially on a rainy day and don’t get too grabby with your front brake. Then the trail winds through indigenous vegetation known as Fynbos following the upper jeep track path through Newlands forest then Kirstenbosch where the trails are bedded with wood chips, your legs may be protesting a bit! before reaching our half way mark at Constantia neck for a coffee break. To get the legs going back in action the second part of our journey take us on a rolling jeep track above Hout Bay valley followed by a short liaison ride through the exclusive neighborhood providing momentary respite before hitting the trail again. Keeping the fireworks grand finale on the newly built single trail following the coastline below the twelve apostle west side of Table Mountain for our final home stretch. This newly artwork trail will test your skill as there is such a great variety from fast flowing single to rocky semi technical climbs, enough to keep your heart up. Loads of amazing scenery and plenty viewpoints to stop at make it difficult to keep your mind of the track.
