Cape Escape Tours EST. 1995
About this Tour
Unquestionably, one of the best excursions in Cape Town is our morning Cape of Good Hope tour. Undoubtedly the most scenic drive around the Peninsula with many photo opportunities along the way. The scenic drive starts from Camps Bay and heads south toward the Cape of Good Hope nature reserve. At this point, almost the entire Cape Point Route falls within the Table Mountain National Park.Â
The first highlight on the way down the peninsula is Chapman’s Peak Drive. While only 10 km in length, there are over 100 tight, winding curves carved into the vertical rock face of the mountain, followed by a forty-five-minute drive to the Good Hope nature reserve main entrance and a further twenty minutes to Cape Point. Enough time is allocated for our guest to hike up to the old lighthouse, but for those less inclined to hike, the Flying Dutchman Funicular takes you 300 feet up the mountain. Lastly, a short 5 minutes walk-up to the old lighthouse. Following our Cape Point visit, a fifteen-minute drive take us down to the Cape of Good Hope, the most southwestern tip in Africa and the legendary dramatic meeting place of two oceans…
Our route back to Cape Town takes us along False Bay and certainly one of today’s highlights is the visit to the endangered African Penguin colony at Boulders. As a matter of fact, in 1982, the first four penguins found their way to this beach and never left. From Boulders Beach, the route hugs the coast, passing the towns of Simon’s Town, Fish Hoek, Kalk Bay, Muizenberg as well as through the Constantia valley.
A truly unforgettable experience!

Cape Escape Tours has to be the best tour you could ever be on. Patrick makes your day. On timepick up, polite, knowledgeable, great driver. understands… read more the client, responds to any request, flexible. Full day tour to the cape of good hope with a great hike to the lighthouse. Had ample time for shopping and lunch. A wonderful stop @ Boulders Beach to visit penguins and a love at first site to see Simons Town. Was sad to leave at the end of the day. Any tour would be great but I’d say full days are the greatest. Going back to Cape Town I’d book everyday with him. Thank you Patrick for being amazing keep on being you as you are simply the best.

I had the pleasure to (try) the “Mini” peninsula all day tour. Patrick met me at the lower table car station at Table Mountain to start the tour. I was… read more his only guest, so we had lot’s of time to chat. Being in CT for 30 years and doing mtb for more than 15, Patrick definitely knows the ins and outs and is a very good guide.
The views and impressions, but also the inside informations on the tour were very special and even though I had to realise I would not make it back to the cable car station (I was around 250 / 1500 altitude meters short…), I still loved every meter I rode.
Patrick was kind enough to go on on his self to get his car, after which he fetched me and brought me to my car.
In a nutshell: Patrick is a very nice and fit guy you enjoy being around with that knows the Cape very well. I can recommend booking him–should I be travelling to CT again, I will do so myself!asseeger

Both trips included high-end dual suspension mountain bikes and ended at lovely wineries which served excellent lunches. Patrick will be one of the first people we contact when we return to Cape Town – I couldn’t recommend a guide more highly.
