Cape Escape Tours EST. 1995
About this Tour
Leaving Cape Town at noon, our Stellenbosch Wineland afternoon tour takes you on a scenic drive toward Stellenbosch and the Boland Mountains. Situated a 45mn drive from Cape Town, the historical town of Stellenbosch is also known as the “City of Oaks”. Stellenbosch and South African wine are one and the same story. It ranks only behind Constantia in its wine-making heritage, but it eclipses it completely when it comes to variety. With over 150 cellars to choose from, it therefore offers the biggest variety of Wine Estates in South Africa.
Stellenbosch is a university town, surrounded by vineyards and mountainous nature reserves. Cafés, boutiques, art galleries and Cape Dutch architecture buildings lined up the street. Outdoor activities, cultural experiences and culinary adventures are almost endless. Therefore, it is an attractive destination for tourists.
Explore by foot the picturesque town of Stellenbosch before taking a leisurely drive to Lanzerac Wine Estates. Nestled in the foothills of the idyllic Jonkershoek Valley, the 325-year-old Wine Estate is unquestionably synonymous with the home of Pinotage, with a rich Cape heritage.
Therefore, there is no better place to be treated with a selection of premium wines and selected chocolates.
Lastly, down the enchanting Jonkershoek valley with majestic mountains, lush fynbos and picturesque vineyards is our final visit to the afternoon’s Stark-Condé wine estate. Stark-Condé focuses on producing red wines with a particular emphasis on Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and other Bordeaux and Rhône varietals. The vineyards spread across the slopes of the valley, offering a patchwork of greenery against the backdrop of the towering mountains. Before heading back to Cape Town in the late afternoon. Our group size is from minimum 2 persons to maximum 5 persons.

Had ample time for shopping and lunch. A wonderful stop @ Boulders Beach to visit penguins and a love at first site to see Simons Town. Was sad to leave at the end of the day. Any tour would be great but I’d say full days are the greatest. Going back to Cape Town I’d book everyday with him. Thank you Patrick for being amazing keep on being you as you are simply the best.

I had the pleasure to (try) the “Mini” peninsula all day tour. Patrick met me at the lower table car station at Table Mountain to start the tour. I was… read more his only guest, so we had lot’s of time to chat. Being in CT for 30 years and doing mtb for more than 15, Patrick definitely knows the ins and outs and is a very good guide.
The views and impressions, but also the inside informations on the tour were very special and even though I had to realise I would not make it back to the cable car station (I was around 250 / 1500 altitude meters short…), I still loved every meter I rode.
Patrick was kind enough to go on on his self to get his car, after which he fetched me and brought me to my car.
In a nutshell: Patrick is a very nice and fit guy you enjoy being around with that knows the Cape very well. I can recommend booking him–should I be travelling to CT again, I will do so myself!
